Last Updated: Jun 11, 2013 04:24AM UTC

If you find incorrect information on your credit report, you can file a dispute to have this information removed. Information that can be disputed includes:

- Incorrect balances
- Incorrect dates
- Incorrect address
- Information that doesn't belong to you (ex. an account belonging to a different person with the same name)
- Accounts opened fraudulently with your information
- Outdated information
- Incomplete information

Once a dipute is filed, the information provider must investigate your claim and verify the information.
