What types of business credit cards won’t impact my personal credit?

Last Updated: May 24, 2013 08:43PM UTC

In today’s lending environment, business credit cards issued by a globally accepted issuer like Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover require that an applicant provides a social security number, unless the business meets certain existing credit and revenue criteria (typically, at least two years of established credit history, and at least $5 million in consistently proven revenue).

Some lines of business credit require an EIN only, though they’re accepted only for purchases made at the issuing vendor, such as a Lowe’s, Staples, or Dell account.
